Three of our dining venues at Prefecture 48 — Garaku, Omakase, and Ibushi — have been recognised in the Good Food Guide 2026.

Garaku was awarded Two Hats, while Omakase and Ibushi each received One Hat — acknowledgements that sit among Australia’s most respected dining honours.

At Prefecture 48, each venue was conceived as a distinct expression of Japanese cuisine and culture. From Garaku’s seasonal kaiseki, to the intimate counter of Omakase, to Ibushi’s fire-led robata experience, every space reflects a different interpretation of craft, shaped by the people behind it.

These recognitions are meaningful, not as milestones reached, but as reflections of a shared journey — one built through years of consistency, curiosity, and collaboration. The path has never been about recognition itself, but about refining our approach, service by service, day by day.

Prefecture 48 was created as a place to explore “every Japan” — a collection of experiences under one roof, each with its own identity yet connected by a common philosophy of care and intention.

To see three of these venues acknowledged in the same year is a quiet affirmation of that vision.

More importantly, it is a recognition of the people behind it — the chefs, the teams on the floor, the partners, and the guests who have supported and shaped the journey.

In the spirit of Be Maro, we remain grounded in what matters most:
to serve with sincerity, to continue refining our craft, and to create experiences that feel considered, personal, and lasting.

These honours mark a moment — but the work, as always, continues.
